I've seen alot of stuff lately about people going private and all that. And, well I just don't want to do that. So, be patient with me while I de-personalize my blog. I'm just going to give my kids little nicknames and not use so much personal info on here.

I hear ya....I wish I could go public but at the same time I like knowing who is reading my blog. My cousin totally thought us private bloggers were paranoid but then I went on her blog and using only information I found on her blog I found the address of where her husband works, correspondence he's written in his job, and if I had had the time, I probably coud have found her exact home address.

If you have to stay public, I agree that nicknames is the way to go. A lot of the random coupon/frugal blogs I read do that.

BTW, we saw the heartbeat on Wednesday. I posted the pic on my blog. It looks like twins but it's not, thank goodness!

I think one of the biggest problems is people linking to your blog from other blogs. If you have your setting so that it's not google-able and they don't have you in their listings (check that in your settings) and keep your profile private, then the only way people would really find you is from someone elses blog. But I had crazies from who knows where linking to my blog! I didn't liek that AT ALL! That's why I went private with personal stuff, and well, you know what I keep public, not a whole lot (I deleted a bunch of stuff, too). I actually came across a lady here in town one day after she was posting pictures of downtown Rigby. Turns out she lives less than 3 miles from me and she freaked out when I told her I figured that out from pictures and other little things. She changed her blogging ways in a big hurry!

I've tried de-personalizing and i can't get anyone's nickname's right when I start to blog...it's annoying...although I'm thinking private may be the way to go for me...we'll see...

I think that is a good idea. We still won't go public.

I didn't mind having my blog public until...some stuff happened. I enjoy writing, and I enjoy people reading my writing...as long as they don't do crazy stuff with pictures and such. Now I have like a total of 5 readers. But as long as I know my pictures are safe, and someone crazy isn't going to take them a doctor them, then that's good by me.
