The woes of rhyming!

It has been awhile! So sorry. I'll update soon, I might even include pictures. We'll see! Right now I wanted to tell you about a conversation me and Squirt had. He's been really into Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, which is really a pretty cute movie. Except one of the main characters names is Buck. See the problem here is that Squirt likes to RHYME things. Everything actually. He came running to me so excited:

S: "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy... Buck rhymes with Duck."
M: "It sure does, [I could see where this was headed quick] What does box rhyme with?"
S: "No Mom, I'm rhyming Buck... It rhymes with Suck too"
M: "Ya, good job, what does cookie rhyme with? "
S: "Mom, Buck rhymes with Luck too and Cuck and Muck and F*%!"
M: "Don't say that one though, that's a bad word"
S: "What's a bad word? F*%!? No mom, it rhymes with Buck... Buck F*%! Buck F*%!"
M: "Please stop saying it, it's a bad word and I don't like it"
S: "Hey bubba, [shouting into the other room] did you know F*%! rhymes with Buck, but it's a bad word?"

This conversation went on a while and I eventually had to threaten bodily harm to get him to stop! I'm thinking either the producers of Ice Age don't have kids and wouldn't have seen this coming or they thought, oh this'll be fun, let's see how many moms we can piss off. What do you think?

A good question...

Little Man asked me the other day:

"Mom, I know Heavenly Father made the trees and the grass and the bushes. How come everything else is made in China?"

That one made me giggle, but then left me a little stumped. Good question!

Little Man's 1st Soccer Game

Little Man had his first soccer game today. It was so much fun to watch. The majority of his team didn't have a clue what was going on. Unfortunately we lost. But he had a lot of fun. He's actually really good too! He almost scored a couple of times!

She's Ours...

I paid the last hospital bill a few days ago (hopefully- the last anyway) and it dawned on me that we officially own our baby. Good thing, I suppose it would be terrible to have your baby repo'd.

When I called to make the last payment they said my card was declined (which is so embarrassing!!) so I called my bank. They looked into it and said that the hospital had ran the card for $10,000, instead of the $100 it was supposed to be. Well no wonder it was declined. I don't have nearly that much although I sure would like to! I called the hospital back and all they could say was "OOPS!"

I was looking over all the "explanation of benefits" for her birth and the total cost to have Ladybug was $16,000 and some change! YOWZA!! Hubbie doesn't make very much money at his job, but the benefits are amazing so I only had to pay a very small portion of that, just pennies in comparison to the THOUSAND's I had to pay for both my boys. $2,000 of that total was labeled for Ladybug's "ROOM and BOARD." As in the little plastic box she slept in for 3 days. In my room. Completely in my care. I guess the box did come with diapers!

Oh well, I'll just file this all away as one more thing I never have to do in life and celebrate the fact that we officially own our baby!

Squirt turns 4!

Squirt had a good birthday. We just relaxed all day. I took him to Chick-fil-a for lunch and let him play forever! Then after dinner we had cake/ice cream and PRESENTS!

I'm 4!

Cake!!

Daddy went over board and got him every "How to train your Dragon" toy they had at the store. This weekend we're going to go see the movie!

He also got a swim suit, new shoes and sandals from Grandma and Grandpa Dial.

On Saturday we had a birthday party at the park with Grandma and Papa Mortensen, Aunt Emily and Uncle Dan and Morgan, Brooklyn, Lauren and Logan and Uncle Michael.

He got an I-Spy game from aunt Emily, "How to train your Dragon" books, pajama's and shirt and some other clothes from Grandma and Papa Mortensen and Daddy busted out another gift- a tonka truck!
Here are all the big boys oohing and aahing over the tonka truck. It was pretty funny when we all noticed what was happening. I tried to sneak a picture but my other brother in law stepped out of the picture right as I took it.
Squirt came to me the other day and informed me that he had changed his mind. He wanted a baby brother now, not a sister. So does anyone know of somewhere that will handle this for me? Maybe I can just go and trade Ladybug for a boy model?

How can you not love this little face?

More Smiles

I finally caught more smiles this time!

This is seriously all we do all day (all 4 of us)- we just sit and try and get her to smile, we're oohing and ahhing and making all kinds of un-human sounds and making crazy faces. It's so fun.

Just when we thought we couldn't love her more...

She went and did this:

(that's the tail end of a really big smile, just in case you can't tell!)

and melted our hearts all over again:)

1 month!

Ladybug is already one month old! (Well last week actually, I'm just really behind on things these days!)

She has grown so much. We weighed her on the Wii (we even made her her own little Mii, it's too cute) and she weighed in at exactly 10lbs. (gained 1 1/2 lbs) and she measured 21 1/2 inches long (grew 2 1/2 inches!)

Of course Squirt had to be a part of the photo shoot!

Here she is all dressed up for church (and not real happy about it). People are always making wierd comments about the flowers. Like they are trying to be nice, and they think they are "so cute" but in a really condescending voice. Oh well, I love them and she's mine and I will do what I want with her:)

Unfortunately, that's the only photo's I have of her. I find myself suffering from 3rd child syndrome, as in could care less about the camera. I'll try and do better!
