Pumkin Patch Fun

We found a fun little pumpkin patch up north somewhere. It was cute but small, it took us 2 hours to get there, we spent about 2 hours there and then a 2 hour drive home. Still, it was worth it to get out of the heat for a couple of hours.

Another facebook note:

10/2007
Okay so my husband has been in training for the past 2 weeks, it's been down town with people from all over Arizona, most of whom are staying in hotels locally and party-ing it up while away from their families. They think they need to include my husband in this.. because why on earth would he want to go home to his family?? He has been asked to go drinking more times than he was ever asked in High School. There are a few people there that he works with in his office, they know he's Mormon and announced it to the whole training class, no big deal, but they all started asking him how "practicing" of a Mormon he was, like you can go to the bar with us and have a beer right? He's also been propositioned by one lady, and another lady started getting really close, laughing at his jokes and actually stroked his leg a couple of times. This lady actually asked what I do, Scott said, well she works in accounting, but really is a stay at home mom, to this she replied "Oh, so she's pretty boring then?" I can only guess where she was going with this. Thankfully, my husband came to my defense and said I'm very exciting! This one really ticked me off and I wanted to go kick the lady's trash until I was informed she's been a cop for the last 8 years... okay so I'll let it slide this time. He declined to go drinking Monday night, becuase we we're going to carve pumpkins as a family (he thankfully left out the "Family Home Evening" part, they'd have had a hey day with that one!) for that they asked if he could get any more "Brady bunch." So I'm saddened that the world thinks my husband is a nerd for wanting to spend time with his wife and children, angered that there are mormons out there that will go to the bar for just one beer, and basically I feel the need to make my home even more of a sanctuary against the world. Sad, huh?

Another one from facebook!

09/2007
Okay, I was getting ready to go to church and decided to wear my knee high leather boots, I was feeling pretty proud of myself because I could finally get them on (my baby is 18 months old, I'm finally losing some of the weight!) I walked out of the room and my dear, sweet 4 year old says (and I will not do justice to his tone on the computer, but I'll try) "WHAT are you wearing??" I said "What? good or bad?" He said "BAD!" so I went in to change my shirt, came back out and he said "No mom, TAKE OFF THE BOOTS!" so I then took off the boots and he then told me the shirt I was wearing looked bad. Like 6 outfits later I was given approval to leave my room ... All from the little boy wearing glow in the dark dinosaur jammies!

I found a couple of "notes" I had posted on facebook long ago before I had a blog. I thought they would be better preserved here. So I will enlighten you for the next few days:)

Here's somethin' from this little fella' when he was 4 (seems like a lifetime ago!):

I was making a peanut butter sandwich after preschool one day when Little Man says to me “My vajama itches” I slowly turned around and said “Your what?” He said “My vajama, you know down here?” (Pointing to his crotch and looking at me like I’m a complete idiot) Now, I know how Little Man’s internal computer works and if I over react it’ll be like a go ahead to use the word as often as possible. So I calmly asked where he learned the word. He said from his cousins. I wasn’t really surprised although I was a little concerned as to where, when (and HOW) this conversation came about. I tried to explain that he didn’t have a “vajama” that only girls do, but I obviously don’t know what I’m talking about because his 6 year old cousin is always right!

What we've done over the last month:

We were just too cute:
(check out those gorgeous brown eyes!)

We did some laundry:

We took a bath: :
(and then almost drowned when the boys both let go of Ladybug at the same time after I took the picture)

We ate, and ate and then ate some more:
(she REALLY enjoys food)

We discovered a new love :
(okay, j/k it was closed! but oh, did she try to figure out how to get it open!)

We took a nap:

We got stuck:
(and couldn't figure out HOW TO GET OUT!)

We had some repair work done:
(okay, j/k I found this on my camera)

We had help from a big brother:

And more help (YIKES!):
(of course, I had to take a picture first!)

We got into EVERYTHING:
(that's her mischievous, "I'm not doing anything" grin- should she have a grin like that at 7 months old??)

And we're wishing you a:
According to the know it all second grader around here, the weather WILL cool off on September 21st. I guess the high for today is only 104 degrees, which is a cool down compared to the past weekend. I suppose we'll take what we can get!

DO NOT feed the girl potatoes...

She is NOT a fan:
which is kindof a tragedy.
She can't be my baby if she doesn't like potatoes. They're like in my blood!
That face was her saying "Please no more mom, please!" But she'd open her mouth when the spoon got near and then start gagging again!

And here's one for you:
Just cause she's so fat and cute:)

From here on out she shall be known as...

LADYBUG:

... and she's 6 months old now! Here's what she's accomplished so far:

*She sleeps 12 hours a night. STRAIGHT. NO JOKE. SHE'S AN ANGEL.
*Her eyes are turning BROWN. I have mixed feelings about this. But they are BEAUTIFUL!
*She's weighing in at 17lbs!
*She has the chunkiest thighs. I can't help but squeeze them.
*She starting to sit on her own. (Still needs help there though)
*She's already starting to crawl. So far only backwards though.
*She loves food. Obviously!
*
She likes to talk. ALOT. We're probably really going to hate this in a few years:(
*She loves to smile, and crinkles her nose now when she's really happy.
*She's starting to reach for things, and can put her binky back in her mouth now.
*She's starting to hold her bottle on her own. I can't go far though. When she drops it, she gets MAD.
*She loves her brothers and her Daddy, and she's starting to cry when I leave the room. I have mixed feelings about this too. It's good to know I'm loved but really I like to do things like use the bathroom BY MYSELF. Ya know?!

Our Newest Form...

of Punishment Discipline:

The other day Hubby got back talked to. Big surprise around my house! Rather than getting mad I heard him say "10 pushups- NOW" and Little Man just dropped down and did it. I was shocked. The same thing for Squirt. Hubbie said "Well, I figured since they'd be doing so many they would at least benefit physically from it"

And today something amazing happened. I asked Squirt to get his shoes on (a huge battle every morning in my house) and then a minute later I asked again, with out looking to see if he did it. Because he never does. He says to me "Mom, I already did." And there he was, standing there with his shoes on. I was speechless.

So there you have it folks. PUSHUPS WORK.

Look we even make Ladybug do them when she back talks:
Ok just kidding, this is her trying her hardest to CRAWL!

The girl gets around... already:(

I put her on her back in the middle of that blanket. I found her maybe 10 minutes later all the way on the other side of the couch. It's a good thing she can only scoot backwards because there was a PILE of LEGO's in the other direction.

And here she is with her new best friend. No one makes her happier than Cooper. I had to break up a makeout session (bleech!) between the 2 to take a picture.
