I was nursing Ladybug when Squirt came into the room. I threw a blanket over myself quickly and asked him what he needed. He walked over and promptly ripped the blanket off of me and cried "WHAT are you doing?" I told him I was feeding the baby, that Heavenly Father made mommies special so that they could feed their babies milk. He looked at me like I'd lost my mind and said "You don't get milk from people! You get it from the bottle in the fridge" So I explained it again and then told him to go away. Later that night he started sucking on my mom's hand and told her he was trying to drink milk!!
It reminded me of when Squirt was born. I would nurse him- and Little Man, barely 3, would be in the room, but never inquired as to what I was doing. One day I was getting him out of the bath, I had just wrapped him in a towel and picked him up. All of the sudden he bit me on my shoulder. I got mad at him, and told him not to bite. After another minute he did it again. When I asked what he was doing, he replied all sad and shy "I'm just trying to eat you like Squirt does."
It's so funny the way kids interpret things!

Blessings...
We blessed Ladybug this past weekend, we did it on a Saturday just because we like to rock the boat a little:)
It was a wonderful day filled with family and, as always, way too much food!

Last night we went to visit my Grandpa (who is a winter visitor down in Gilbert). He has a beautiful Golden Retriever that my boys loved to run around with. Squirt just clung to Grandpa's leg and became his little shadow, which if you know Squirt is pretty surprising, he doesn't take well to most people. We went to dinner and while sitting at the table Grandpa asked Squirt if he could trade him his dog for the baby. Squirt promptly said "sure" So Grandpa rephrased the question. "I can keep your baby sister and you can keep my dog?" Squirt thought about it for a minute and said "Well, Grandpa we already have a dog, but he needs a friend, so okay!"
I guess he's not as in love with her as I thought!

Sorry blog fans...
I know you've all been dying to see her:
Delivery went well. With a scheduled C-section there is not much excitement to tell you about, I walked in, they pumped me full of all kinds of drugs...
... and then it felt like they tore her out of my body. I couldn't feel pain, but there was all kinds of crazy pressure where I was sure they were pulling all my internal organs out as well.
She was a fatty... 8lbs. 9oz and 19 inches long. She's just perfect in everyway.
Little Man and Squirt are in love. Daddy too!

It's D-Day!!
I'm not embarrased to show off my fat self, because today is the end of this MISERABLE PREGNANCY!!! But it'll all be worth it when I hold my little girl in my arms in just a few short hours!
My dear Hubbie has no idea how to (1) get pictures off the camera, (2) update blogger or (3) update facebook. So you'll all probably have to wait a few days for details!
Wish us luck!!
Baby Shower
I had an awesome baby shower a few weeks ago. My mother in law, Marla and my sister in law, Emily put it on for me and it was wonderful. I had so many good friends come. That always makes you feel loved:)
Here's some pics:
And here's some stats for you. We are going to be raising a serious diva, I'm afraid. And is it bad if I'm jealous of my daughters closet and she's not even here yet?
67= outfits hanging in the closet (and that's only upto 6 months, I didn't have room to hang anything above that, it's in a big box)
18= onesies in the drawer
20= gowns/sleepers
17= pairs of shoes!!!!!!!!!!! (these are in several sizes, upto at least the age of 3!)
And the number of those that I bought? 4.
Alot of those were gifts, but a ton of the clothes came from my friend Shay, and a ton of the shoes came from my sister in law Emily. LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too many idiots in this world...
Hubbie filled out FMLA paperwork so that he could use a week of sick time (instead of vacation) when I have the baby. He had to do it thru FMLA because he's not actually sick but a family member is, anyway...bla bla bla...
So he puts in for the week of Feb 1st. His supervisor emails him and says that that week is their "Statistics week" and it really doesn't work for her. And to quote her: "IS THERE A PLAN B?"
A Plan B??
Are you joking?
When would work better for you? Shall I hold off until March? I mean, I do SO LOVE being pregnant, and babies always do what you tell them to do, so we could probably make that work, right?
And to let you know: He responded **VERY SARCASTICALLY** with similar questions as the above and told her not to worry about it, that his statistics will be done.

I grew up in Detroit and by nature of that am a Red Wings fan. I think you have to be, it's like a law or something. 10+ years ago when I was graduating from High School, the Red Wings were on top of their game. Detroit had been nick-named Hockey Town and we had the best parties watching the games. We even danced in the streets when they won the Stanley Cup. These are some of my funnest memories!!
I replied: "Heck ya, I'm a Red Wings fan, are you?"
He tells me that Phoenix had only had a hockey team for a short time, so he's always been a Red Wings fan. Then he asks if I was going to watch the game tonight. This is where I saw my chance! "Oh," I replied (*batting eyelashes and flashing my most charming smile*) "I don't have a TV" Ha Ha! He took the bait! "You should come watch it at my apartment"
Well, here we are sitting on the couch some 9 years later. It was Friday and this is how the week had gone:
Monday: Fiesta Bowl,
Tuesday: Sugar Bowl,
Wednesday: Suns Game,
Thursday: National Championship Game,
Friday: Suns Game & Coyotes Game.
Let me also tell you that this is the first week my dear Hubbie had been home in the evenings in 18 months (he started on days again and it's WONDERFUL!) So to celebrate he decided to OD on sporting events. By Friday I was at my wits end and complained about having to flip between 2 sporting events. He says "hey, I seem to recall a 19 year old girl that loved hockey"
Yeah, yeah... I know. I sat down and fell asleep on the couch. And in my defense: He never asked me if I was a HOCKEY fan:)
**The Hockey was okay too.**
Fast forward a few months to the sleepy town of Rexburg, Idaho. I meet a cute boy from Phoenix who says "Cool, your from Detroit? Are you a Red Wings fan?"I replied: "Heck ya, I'm a Red Wings fan, are you?"

3-D baby pics!

I've been meaning to scan these for a month now. Since they were taken on 12/1 I figured 1/1 would be a good day to post them! It was the coolest thing ever to see a 3-D pic of this baby. Squirt came along and was in awe as well. It went from looking like an alien to an actual baby. The ultrasound tech even did a quick 4-D scan, which is basically just a live feed. We were watching her just wiggle around in there. It was amazing! Apparently she's quiet large. They estimated her weight at 3lbs. 10 oz. which is above the 95% for her age. My Doctor estimated that she'd be 10 lbs if I went full term. The ultrasound tech was just oohhing and awwwing and I think she even teared up once which I thought was strange. Hubbie said that she was pregnant and did a pretty good job of hiding it but he could tell, that would explain her emotions!
We scheduled my C-section for Feb 2nd. I just hope she hangs on that long! Most days I feel like she's trying to claw her way out. My Doctor said he "should" be back from Uganda by then! That's a really comforting thought. Thanks Doc for deciding to do a medical mission in my 9th month of pregnancy. Really that was so selfish of you! Ok, Ok, I'm kidding (kindof).
I guess I'm having a baby shower in a few weeks, so look for invites if you live locally. I'm not crazy about the idea cause I'm a little old school and think you should just have one for your first. But my mother in law and sister in law really want to throw one and who am I to deny them the pleasure of throwing a party?? So come party and celebrate my baby girl!!
