Thanks to all those that have got a kick out my top ramen story... I'm glad to know you are all still alive after being fed it your self!
As I've said my kids are picky. I usually have to come up with 3 different meals, because I refuse to eat their food and they refuse to eat mine. So while staring in the pantry I came across a random box of Tuna Helper, I thought well it has noodles in it, so it's worth a try. I added some green beans to at least trick my mind that I was eating something fresh and healthy. Both boys looked at their plates said "yum!" and dug in... I was a little shocked, this is the first time probably ever that I've made one meal, and it was Tuna Helper of all things! Little Man said he really liked the "chicken" and Squirt and Little Man raced to see who could eat their green beans fastest. Even as I'm writing this, I'm still amazed... I'm sure tonight things will be back to "normal" but wow! what a night!

Dinner
Let me preface what I'm about to write by saying that my kids are both extremely picky eaters! Tonight, as usual, I make a really yummy dinner for Hubbie and I and something gross for my kids, tonight's request was Top Ramen, yum! So Little Man loves the stuff, and I know you're thinking- ewww! she actually feeds that to her children? I know, it's bad... but like I said they are so picky that when I find something they'll eat, I have to go with it! So I made it for Little Man and gave a small amount to Squirt, I wasn't optimistic that he'd actually eat it. Well he looked at it, picked up his glass of milk, poured it into the chicken Top Ramen and ATE away!! It was so gross, but I figured he was eating it and it wasn't going to kill him, right?
Anyways onto another topic, to kind of contrast my last post, this week has been so nice, I think almost 80 degrees. On Monday, I was sun bathing in the back yard!! I had to throw that in to make my whole family jealous, since they are all snowed in, in different parts of the country!

This week in review...
Monday started out with snow...okay it was actually hail, but it was wet enough that it looked like snow in the sand. Chasetin was very excited!

Yes, that's about 6 inches of ice at the bottom of the slide!

The boys watching the rain. It rained for quite a while with lots of thunder, we haven't had that in a long time!
Tuesday, Chasetin started pre-school again. I don't know who was more excited Mom or Chasetin (for those of you that didn't know, his teachers husband died suddenly about a month ago, so she needed some time off) Scott is a CNN "freak" if you will, so it was on all day, we were praying for a miracle... one didn't come!
Wednesday, we went to the Science Center. The AZ Science Center is the lamest Science Center I have ever been too, but Chasetin likes it, and we have a year pass so it doesn't hurt to go. They have a new dinosaur exhibit, Chasetin loved it and Tanner clung to my leg the whole time, just sure they were going to eat them!

Chasetin had to take this pic, becuase Tanner literally wouldn't let me put him down!
Thursday was pre-school again, have I mentioned how much I love these days? Tanner and I went to story time at the library. He's starting to learn to sing songs, well do the actions at least... hes really good at itsy bitsy spider and tries really hard at wheels on the bus, but his arms just don't seem to work right yet!
and Today, Friday, we went to the zoo. We have a membership pass here too, so again no money spent. We tried to do some different things so the zoo doesn't get boring.

the coolest tree house ever!

driving a tractor at the petting zoo
all in all, its been a great week... hope yours was too!

Random thoughts today!
I'm feeling lazy today because it's raining, that happens so rarely that we're just enjoying it. Little Man had big plans to go outside and practice "his basketball game" that when he opened the door he said "I can't believe my eyes, it's raining"
So because I'm lazy, I've just been sitting at the computer playing. Have you ever hit the button at the top of the blogger screen, the one that says "next blog"? wow! what fun!! I've been spying basically into all these people's lives, there are a lot of photographer blogs out there too, so I've been enjoying all their beautiful photos. I just really want to find more people I know that have blogs so I have something worthwhile to look at while I'm having these lazy days!
One of those photography blogs I found had the cutest pics of her boys in the tub, I thought photos like that would be great artwork for the bare walls of my bathroom. So below are some cute ones i took of Squirt. Little Man was too busy being a "water lizard"(????) to have his photo taken. Maybe next time!

Squirt had a big day yesterday, while changing his diaper last night, he was fighting me so hard to put on a new one, I stood him up and said "what do you want?" and he pulled my hand to the bathroom and pointed to the potty, so I sat him on it and he peed!! Let me tell you, I was as excited as I've ever been, I mean he his 22 months old. I fell asleep later that night to dreams of never buying diapers again! Of course he shown no interest today, but it's a start. This is almost 2 years earlier than Little Man! I thought he'd go to kindergarten in diapers!
Anyways that's my random thoughts for the day. Here is one more pic of the boys, they were just being cute. Have a good day

National Wear Red Day — Wear Red Tomorrow!
Very few people seem to know it (I didn't), but heart disease is the number one health threat for American women. Yikes. So the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services created "The Heart Truth". It's a national awareness campaign designed to warn women about the seriousness of keeping their hearts healthy.
So now you know. It's pink for breast cancer and red for heart health. And tomorrow, February 1st is National Wear Red Day. (Fitting don't you think — February and Valentine's Day and Red and Hearts and all that?) Want to get involved? Here are some ideas:
1. The easiest and best — wear red tomorrow! February 1st is National Wear Red Day!!
2. Take a photo of yourself wearing red and send it to the National Wear Red Day Flickr group.
3. Are you a Facebook-er? Then you can show your support by joining the The Heart Truth Fan page.
(note from Julia: I hi-jacked this from www.designmom.com, I thought it was important and since my mom has had a heart attack, I feel like I need to be aware and proactive to keep myself from having one in the future)

Squirt speaks!
Okay, so the word "speaks" might be a stretch. Still, things are starting to come out of his mouth! A few days ago we were awake at 4:30am. He was hungry and I was staring into the pantry in a fog. He was pointing and grunting, his usual form of communication, but I wasn't understanding, so he threw his arms down in disgust with me and said "Tookie... I... want!" So sorry, I wasn't thinking about cookies at 4:30 in the morning. (being the great mom that I am, I gave him the cookie and fell asleep on the couch while he watched "Dora" and jumped all over me)
Then a few days later, he walked up to me and clear as day said "I go poop"- well, thank you for that one!
Anyways, being the stubborn child that he is, those words have not left his mouth again, but I know they're in there! So here is a video of him and some of the cute things we do hear from him alot!

Family Scripture Reading...
Okay, truely... has anyone ever tried this with 2 boys??
About a year ago I heard a talk in church, the talk was on reading scriptures with children and the gal speaking said something to the effect of "Let your children grow up remembering never having NOT read the scriptures as a family." So I went home and announced that we are starting family scripture time. I'm proud to announce a year later we are in .... 2nd Nephi.
Evenings are kind of crazy around here, but we tried to read before bedtime, it lasted about 2 days. We didn't have a lot of structure at the time and the boys went to bed basically when mom and dad couldn't stand the noise any more! When things reached that point, no one was thinking about reading the Book of Mormon. Then we tried reading in the morning, that lasted a few more days. However my husband has this wonderful habit of hitting the snooze button for over and hour and finally dragging himself out of bed about 5 minutes before he needs to leave. Not much time there for scripute study either. So that is why 1 year later we are still in 2nd Nephi. Well I've very recently implemented a little structure in our lives. At 7:00 pm, we get the boys in their jammies and we read scriptures and off to bed. So far it's lasted 4 days! However this is what our first evening went like...
The chapter had 20 versus. In those 20 versus Little Man started doing somersaults, Squirt jumped on the dog and almost got bit for it, A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle went flying across the room, leaving Squirt's hand and connecting with Little Man's forehead. It started to bleed and there was a lot of screaming, and then we ended the chapter with a game of tag in full swing, both boys chasing each other in a circle around Hubbie and I, who were sitting on the floor.
Ahhhh, how I love children! Hubbie and I just looked at each other. The boys had won this round and we had lost! I keep telling myself (and Hubbie- who was ready to give up right then and there) that it's because they are not used to it yet and becuase we are in the Isaiah Chapters and basically I felt like doing somersaults too. So there's my story... it will get better right?

My 2 weeks notice...
Yesterday I told Hubbie that I'm putting in my 2 weeks notice as a mother!
As you've read from my 2 previous posts Squirt has been sick- throwing up for 14 days to be exact. That's right 14 days of vomit! Well yesterday for the first time he did not throw up, but Little Man wanted his turn to shine and decided he'd do it if Squirt wasn't going to. Standing in the middle of my hallway he puked everywhere! He covered about 5 feet of floor too, including the wall on both sides, the basket of clean clothes at the end of the hall, and himself. (thank goodness for wood floors!) So effective Feb 1st, Little Man & Squirt will be without a mom and I'll be vacationing on a beach somewhere!.......................gosh I wish!

We have a diagnosis!
WARNING: This blog is not for those with a light stomach!
Squirt has something called "gastritis" basically a technicle term for severe constipation. His body is so stopped up that it's stopped processing his food. So the food he eats in the morning sits in his stomach, becuase it's not coming out one way, it has to come out another. The kid is on a pretty heavy laxative and an antiacid pill. Needless to say, I have changed 2 of the grossest diapers in the world today! Now the fun part... I had to get 3 different vials of poop and take them to the lab to be tested. So, becuase of the laxative, his diaper was full of what looked like thick soup. I had to use a spoon to scoop it in these very small vials, I got poop all over my hands, I almost threw up! Don't worry, I threw away the spoon!

Any one want to venture a guess...
as to what is wrong with my baby?
Squirt has been throwing up for 12 days straight now... and the odd thing is, it only happens in the late afternoon and evening. If he doesn't throw up during his nap (I've thrown away 4 pillows and 1 sheet) then it happens around 7pm. At this point we can all tell when it's coming, even Squirt. And after he throws up now, he just goes on with his evening because it's just another part of his day. He's had blood work done, a urine culture done (getting a urine sample from a 21 month old was fun!) and yesterday he had some abdominal xrays taken, no results yet. The next step is to go to a gastroenterologist, I don't even know what that is exactly so I can't tell you if I spelled it right!
To top it all off, I had to reschedule his hand surgery that he was going to have this week. So he's going to have to go through all these test and then turn around and have surgery.
My poor baby... I wish I could help him some way. Pray for inspiration for the doctors!
